Reach 500

Welcome to Reach 500, an innovative initiative aimed at empowering at-risk youth and young adults aged 15 to 24. Through our comprehensive CDL and logistics training, we offer a transformative journey that equips participants with the essential skills and certifications needed to succeed in the transportation and logistics sectors.

Program Overview

Reach 500 aims to uplift under-served communities by offering free CDL (Commercial Driver's License) training, logistics certification, and job placement support. With a focus on practical, industry-relevant skills, participants will graduate with a competitive edge, ready to enter the workforce and secure meaningful employment. In addition to training and certification, Reach 500 also emphasizes mentorship and personal development. Participants will have access to experienced mentors from the logistics and transportation industry who will guide them through the process of building a resume, preparing for interviews, and navigating the workplace. This holistic approach ensures that graduates not only possess the technical skills needed for their careers but also the confidence and professional networking abilities necessary to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

What We will Offer:

  • Free CDL Training: Full Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT), including both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, leading to a Class A CDL.
  • Logistics Certification: In-depth training in freight dispatch, freight brokerage, and supply chain logistics.
  • Job Placement: Partnerships with local employers and transportation companies to help graduates secure employment after completing the program.
  • Industry-Recognized Credentials: Participants will receive up to three nationally recognized credentials upon graduation, setting them up for immediate success in the workforce.

Who Can Join?

Reach 500 will be open to youth and young adults aged 16-24 from under-served communities in Texas and Louisiana. We prioritize individuals who have faced barriers to education and employment, such as those from low-income families, the reentry population, or those who have not completed high school.

Why Reach 500?

  • Free of Charge: No tuition fees, thanks to our partnerships and community sponsors.
  • Holistic Support: Participants receive not only technical training but also mentorship, life skills coaching, and financial literacy education.
  • Community Impact: By training 500 young people, we aim to transform the future of regions workforce and reduce unemployment and poverty within under-served communities.
